Fingerprinting

​Fingerprinting services available by appointment only

To request an appointment for fingerprinting services, please call 651-793-2410.

What to bring to the appointment

  • Valid government-issued photo identification (State issued driver's license or ID, Passport, U.S. Active Duty/Retiree/Reservist Military ID, etc.). If your ID is expired, remember to bring your renewal slip or you will not be able to get fingerprinted.
  • Ten dollars per fingerprint card. Acceptable payment methods include cash, personal check or money order/cashier check. Checks should be made payable to the BCA.
  • If you were provided background check documents, please bring to your appointment.

The BCA provides FD-258 cards, which are official fin​gerprint cards approved by the FBI. You can also provide your own card.

Once you are fingerprinted, you will receive a hard copy of your fingerprint card. The BCA does not provide or submit electronic versions of fingerprint cards.

BCA does not provide fingerprinting services for DHS background studies

If you require fingerprinting for a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study, please contact DHS for a list of locations where the fingerprints may be obtained. The BCA cannot complete fingerprinting for this purpose.

If you need fingerprinting for a minor child please contact the BCA for specific requirements before scheduling an appointment.
