Disability license plates
Disability license plates allow the vehicle to use designated parking spaces. These plates can also be personalized.
To qualify for disability license plates, the applicant must be the owner (or primary operator if the vehicle is owned by a business) of the vehicle on which the license plates will be displayed, or is the custodial parent or guardian of a permanently disabled minor, or is the owner of a commercial rental motor vehicle that has been specially modified for and is used exclusively by permanently physically disabled people.

Please display
A person may display disability plates on passenger class vehicles (cars, vans, pickups), self-propelled recreational vehicles (RV), one-ton pickups, motorcycles, and mopeds. More than one set of disability plates may be issued. However, a questionnaire, developed by the Minnesota Council on Disability, must be completed by the applicant and be submitted with the application for the second set of license plates Motorcycles and mopeds as the second vehicle are automatically approved without completing the survey.

Most Special Plates are available with a disability emblem.
Fees
Plate fee: $15.50
Motorcycle plate: $13.50
Plates may be transferred to another vehicle of the same type owned by the applicant for a $5 fee.
