State Parks and Trails specialized license plates

The license plate allows unlimited visits to all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas for an entire year—no additional vehicle permit is required. Proceeds from the sale of this specialty plate will be used to support the operations and maintenance of Minnesota state parks and trails. Currently sales of this plate collect over $2 million each year to support Minnesota's most beautiful places.

The minimum annual contribution is $60, which is due with the initial application and each registration renewal. You may contribute more than the $60 minimum if you wish.

Plates are available for passenger and recreational vehicles. Minnesota State Parks and Trails plates are available with the disability parking symbol for qualified applicants, and the plates can be personalized. Plates may be transferred to another vehicle owned by the applicant. There is a $5 plate transfer fee and the $60 contribution fee will also be due at this time.
