Welcome to the DPS website rebuild project!

We are in the process of rebuilding our public website. Since its launch in 2011, our website has been a key resource for Minnesotans seeking public safety information and services. However, with evolving technology and user needs, it's time for an upgrade.

Why this project?

Our current website is not mobile-friendly, the navigation could be more intuitive, and the overall design needs a refresh. Additionally, the content management system (CMS) powering the site is nearing the end of its support lifecycle. This project will address these issues by delivering a website that is:

  • Improved content: More than 100 DPS staff have been working for months making our website content easier to understand so you can get done what you need to when you need to.
  • User-friendly: Improved navigation and organization, structure, and labeling of content will make it easier for you to find what you need.
  • Modern and responsive: A design that adapts to different screen sizes, providing a better experience whether you're using a smartphone, tablet or desktop.
  • Accessible: We are committed to meeting or exceeding state and federal accessibility standards, ensuring that our site is usable by everyone, including those with disabilities.
  • Secure: Enhanced cybersecurity measures will be in place to protect sensitive information and ensure data integrity.

What's next?

We've partnered with Interpersonal Frequency, a leading web development firm that has worked with dozens of government and public sector clients, to assist with the redesign and CMS configuration. The new site will be powered by Drupal, a popular and widely used CMS known for its flexibility and reliability.

As we move forward, we'll be providing regular updates on our progress. We're also committed to gathering feedback from our users to ensure the new website meets your needs.

Stay informed

We invite you to stay informed throughout this process. Check back here for updates, and please take our survey so we know how you use our current site and what information you'd like to see highlighted when we launch the new and improved version.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to enhance our digital presence and better serve the public.
