National Heatstroke Prevention Day is May 1

Heatstroke from being left in vehicles is the leading cause of non-traffic, non-crash-related fatalities for children 14 and younger in the U.S. These deaths are 100 percent preventable. National Heatstroke Prevention Day is on May 1, and you can help raise awareness of vehicular heatstroke and how to prevent it. Information, campaign materials and talking points to share in your community can be found in the links below. While May 1 is dedicated to prevention day awareness, the information and materials can be shared with your community throughout our warm weather months.​
