July 2023 communications update

While some of you have seen me around, assisting with State Fire Marshal Division (SFMD) communications needs since January, July 1 marks my official transition to SFMD as your public information officer. Prior to this move, you may have interacted with me as the PIO for Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management as the Minnesota Emergency Communication Networks where I led communications efforts for seven years. I am excited to join the ranks of telling great stories of the good work of our fire service statewide. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with story ideas that we could highlight. Speaking of fire prevention and education, the launch of the 2023 Fire Prevention Week™ theme will take place on July 10 at 1 p.m. Eastern across National Fire Prevention Association web and social media channels. Then visit www.fpw.org to learn more about the theme, resources, and assets to prepare yourselves, peers, and your communities for Fire Prevention Week 2023 which runs from Oct. 8 – 14.
